Bullying is a form of Harassment

Hello Everyone!

As we approach Bullying Awareness Week and wrap up our unit on Harassment, let us reflect on some of the decisions we have made. Some of our actions have been good in supporting those who are victims of bullying. Others, need to think about how we can change our attitudes toward bullying. It is around us. We all see it.

Watch the following video clips and identify the:
- harasser
- victim
- form of harassment
- what can be done in this situation to solve the problem

And HERE is one more.

  1. Sam Moffatt,
I thought that all 3 of these vidoes portrade very good examples of harassment. In the first video it acually had a very powerful message, because it true words do hurt alot sometimes maybe even more than an hit. The second video showed a very well know type of bullying wich is pyshical bullying. When bigger kids pick on littler ones it is a vgery unfair advantage for the bully. Lastly to me the 3rd video had the bigest impacted on me when the kids where picking on the red head they thought they were so cool. But when the "cool kids" relized that the older kid died his hair red he stopped making fumn of him. The older kid took a stand!

  2. The second video was about a group of friends walking when the "neighborhood bully" began to laugh at them, they turned around and noticed him, the bully began to try and scare them when the children started to run away, the bullies friend jumped down and started to chase them. When the kids started to run the first bully came back and grabbed on to one of the kids. This physical bullying is not acceptable. always tell an adult when you expierence bullying.

The third video was a kid being bullied because of the way he looked. His hair was orange and the bullys turned and laughed at him while flashing a orange hat on one of there heads. A by stander did something about. The by stander dyed his blond hair orange to take a stand. The bullys noticed the change and stopped bullying him. The little kid was glad that someone older took a stand and helped him not be tormented by the bully.

  3. The first video was a typical form of bullying... verbal bullying. Where the bully(s) make fun of the victim and call them names. The bullys should accept the "not so popular girl" but they don't so they call her names.
The second video was a good representative for all the physical bullying going on around the world. Where the bullys pick on the little kids and hurt them, while they have no defense. They make them scared to go to and from school because the bullys might be there waiting for them.
Finally, the third video was a typical verbal bullying, where all the bullys pick on the "red head". But it also shows how a by stander stood up to the bully by dyeing his hair red to support the helpless kid.

  4. These videos have 3 types of harrasement or bullying in them the first one is when the girls make fun of the other one by calling her mean names this is verbal bullying. The second video is about a bully that grabes a kid by the arm and makes him say uncle. This is physical bullying. The third video is about a kid that has red hair and a group of older people make fun of him for having red hair. Then when a different kid dyes his hair red they stop makeing fun of him. This is verbal bullying. The final video is about a teenager who gets his books pushed out of his hands by a different person. Then a other teenager helps him pick up his books. This is physical bullying.
