It's All Greek To Me!?!?!

What on Earth does this mean?!?!  Well, I can tell you it is an idiom.  Post your findings below.

  1. I didn't know what idiom means... but thats what online dictionaries are for (:
I asked my mom what it meant, and I understand it now. I think (from what my mom told me and what I knew) "its all greek to me" could mean that it makes no sense or you can't understand any of it, because Greek writing can look confusing with all the different characters and such.
    First comment! :D

  2. Good work Sofia! What an inference you made (what you have in brackets!!!!!!). Sometimes we learn something and it is so confusing or you think you will never get it. In that case, we may say, “It is ALL Greek to me! I don't understand it.” My goal is that by the end of the year we will clear up many of our misconceptions that we have about different topics! I hope we will understand "Greek"!

  4. I think "its all Greek to me" means that it is confusing and you don't understand any of it. Like certain math lessons:)
Anyway, i think that if you were to read Greek you would not have a clue what is written on it and it would look confusing. Usually if you don't understand any of what is happening you will say "I'm so lost" or "I don't understand" It is just another way of saying it!
